~ Community Outreach Program ~

We offer a Community Outreach Program designed to help people in need, under temporary circumstances, so they
can give proper care and nutrition to their beloved horse(s) during unexpected hard times.

Horses At Hearts’ Community Outreach Program is designed to provide resources, at no cost, to horse owners who are in need.  We understand that anyone can fall upon hard times due to illness, loss of employment, etc., and Horses At Heart will help those individuals in need on a temporary basis until they are back on their feet.  This program is not intended for chronic use and will be monitored. These resources include:p1010287

  • Providing feed and other supplies
  • Pay for veterinarian and farrier services
  • Assist with horse rehabilitation
  • Pay for or provide basic training services

In addition, we understand that placing horses in new homes may be necessary and Horses At Heart will offer assistance with marketing and placement of these horses.  We recognize this as an optimum situation as the horse is still well cared for, has not been abused or neglected, and in most cases does not require any rehabilitation.  It is much easier to find a healthy, vigorous horse a new home than one that has been physically or mentally compromised.

The Community Outreach Program is supported with donations of feed, tack, services, etc. from members of the community, local farm and garden stores, and Horses At Hearts volunteers.  Veterinarian and farrier care will be offered to Horses At Heart at a reduced cost which will be covered by grants and donations.
