A not for profit group founded in 1984 for the promotion and education of dressage and eventing for enthusiasts in Whatcom County and surrounding areas.  Our group is a chapter of Equestrians Institute (EI) which is a Group Member Organization (GMO) of USDF.

Animal Welfare Institute

Founded in 1951 and is dedicated to alleviating suffering inflicted on animals by humans.

AWI offers information on Horse Slaughter.  Please share this with everyone you know in hopes this will change anyone’s mind who is thinking about taking a horse to an auction with the very real possibility that they will go to slaughter.  There is also a video on Transporting Horses to Slaughter which shows what really happens during the last few days of these horses.

Unwanted Horse Coalition

The mission of the Unwanted Horse Coalition is to reduce the number of unwanted horses and to improve their welfare through education and the efforts of organizations committed to the health, safety, and responsible care and disposition of these horses.

The Unwanted Horse Coalition will help educate the horse industry about the issue of Unwanted Horses and help people learn to own responsibly.  The coalition hopes teaching people to own responsibly will help lower the number of unwanted horses.  They have put together a wonderful, informational pamphlet called Own Responsibly.

Horses At Heart attended the show held on March 28, 2010.  We had an absolutely wonderful time meeting and talking to everyone!  The warm smiles, words of encouragement and support offered by all was amazing!

Rex is a gorgeous 16h, 16 year old Thoroughbred gelding.  He’s black with a little white star and has an absolutely wonderful personality.  Very willing and eager to please,  kind and sensitive, mellow yet curious.  We’ve absolutely fallen in love with him and can’t wait to find his forever home!

He’s completed training level 2 dressage.  He is also wonderful on the trails.  Up to date on all vaccinations, worming, farrier (new shoes 3 weeks ago) and had his dental in June.  He stands calmly for the farrier and vet, as well as grooming, tacking, etc.  Loads and trailers with ease.  He’s going to make someone a dream horse!
