AWI offers information on Horse Slaughter. Please share this with everyone you know in hopes this will change anyone’s mind who is thinking about taking a horse to an auction with the very real possibility that they will go to slaughter. There is also a video on Transporting Horses to Slaughter which shows what really happens during the last few days of these horses.
Unwanted Horse Coalition
The mission of the Unwanted Horse Coalition is to reduce the number of unwanted horses and to improve their welfare through education and the efforts of organizations committed to the health, safety, and responsible care and disposition of these horses.
The Unwanted Horse Coalition will help educate the horse industry about the issue of Unwanted Horses and help people learn to own responsibly. The coalition hopes teaching people to own responsibly will help lower the number of unwanted horses. They have put together a wonderful, informational pamphlet called Own Responsibly.
